Chapter 25 The Final Chapter

Howard and Chloe were sat down together for the first time all week “with all that’s happened this week I feel like I have neglected you” Howard said snuggling up close to Chloe “I don’t feel like you have, you have been helping your friends and that shows me that you care for everyone , that you are selfless and that you will put other people before yourself and that has made me love you even more” Chloe said lovingly “I still feel like I have neglected you and they I should have put you first but to make it up to you I have booked a table at a restaurant for tonight” Howard said smiling “Howard you didn’t have to do that! I would have been happy with staying in” Chloe laughed. Howard kissed Chloe and whispered “I just want it to be special” Chloe looked up at him inquisitively but Howards face was not giving anything away.

“I think I might know who the people you saw in the field were” Amy said she had been thinking about it all day “who?” Gary asked eagerly “I think it could be Jason and Sofie when they found you” Amy said “But surely I would have recognised them” Gary said sounding confused “no not if your brain was not working properly as your body was starting to shut down due to the hypothermia so your brain might not have process the image properly so you would not have recognised us” Sofie suggested. The doctor walked in “I have some good news for you! Gary we are happy with your progress so we are discharging you” Everybody smiled “thank you are looking after me, I am sorry I was so stupid” Gary said gratefully “that is ok and you and don’t blame yourself you were not being stupid you were doing everyday stuff there are some people who do really stupid things and you are not one of them, well I wish you the best of luck and I can’t wait to hear the album you were talking about!” the doctor said he then left. Sofie let out a sigh of relief then turned to Amy “thank you for being here for me you are such a good friend and I am so lucky that all my friends are just like you being kind and caring” Amy hugged Sofie back then turned to Gary “All that matters is that you are getting better”

Robbie was sat in a chair next to Kate’s bed discussing their wedding “so we have the best man, bridesmaids, venue and a date in 2 weeks’ time, the Church is booked isn’t it?” Kate asked “yes it is defiantly booked so all that’s left to sort out is the catering, Flowers and invites” Robbie said “did someone say flowers?” they both looked up to see Gary standing in the door way “Gary” “that’s my name! I am free to go so I thought I would come see you, so what’s this about flowers?” “Sorting out flowers for the wedding” Robbie said “I know a very good flower person who specialises in weddings” “do you want to sort out the flowers then” Kate asked “I will go call him now” Gary joked

Rachel arrived at work and was immediately surrounded by a group of girls all asking “how’s Gary” “if you let me sit down and get sorted out then I will tell you!” everyone followed Rachel to her desk and sorted herself out the started “ok so Gary was missing one morning so everyone went out looking for him in the end Sofie and Jason found him in the field behind Gary and Sofie’s house unconscious and suffering from hypothermia and memory loss but he has improves quickly” “has he left hospital yet?” One of the girls asked “no not as far as I know” Rachel informed them. Rachel’s collages asked a few more questions then left Rachel be. Rachel texted Jonathon “not too much of an interrogation they have left me alone now. Any news on Gary, Kate or Rob?” Jonathon texted back almost immediately “Just heard that Gary and Rob have been discharged but Kate is still being monitored”

Mark was smiling when he put the phone down “it is good news then” Greta said smiling “Gary has been discharged from hospital and is on his way home with Sofie” Mark replied “Any news on Kate?” “She is still under observation but should be released tomorrow” Mark paused to think “didn’t Katie say that she had found out who sold the story to the papers the other day?” “She did didn’t she gosh I had forgotten that! With Gary and Rob I think everybody had pushed the story to the back of their mind!”

Jason sent a massage round to everyone “meeting at mine tomorrow 7pm!” He then sat down next to Katie “it is so nice to know that the story is all sorted out!” Jason said “there has been nothing about any of you since the sub headline about Gary so touch wood it is all over now” Katie said “I think the story about Gary made them stop and give us a rest” Jason said relived “I will keep my eye on the papers but I have seen things like this happen before” Katie said not really thinking “you are so good at your job I am so lucky to be in a relationship with you” Jason sighed

Howard and Chloe were in-between the main course and Dessert when Howard brought out a small box he put it on the table and held Chloe’s hand looked in to her eyes and asked a question “Chloe will you Marry me?” Chloe went bright red “Of course I will” the whole room busted in to applause both Howard and Chloe went bright red.

So the next day everyone was crowded in Jason’s living room chatting about what the meeting could be about “I think it is about the person who sold the story to the papers” Mark suggested “I agree with Mark I think Katie’s finally going to tell us who did it” Howard agreed. At that moment Katie and Jason walked into the room carrying some snack “Ok I think everyone knows why we are all here but just in case you have had some memory loss” Jason said looking at Gary “I Know what it is about my memory loss was not that bad!” “Well it is about who sold to story to the papers” Jason finished, Katie put the snakes then stepped into the centre of the circle “after much research I think I have found out who sold the story” Katie paused to build the suspense “it was one of the workers in the paper who say the photo and thought that saying that it was a fake wedding would make a good story” “so what are we going to do next” Gary asked “well the story has been out of the papers for a few days now so I think we have seen the last of but if not we can take the paper to court for publishing false information”. A cheer went round the room and everybody started helping themselves to snacks.

This time it was Robbie’s turn experience wedding day nerves it was the day he was waiting for everything had come together as promised Gary had organised the flowers and they were perfect. Mark stuck his head round the door “nervous?” “Yes!” “Do you need help getting ready?” “No I am ready”. Mark and Robbie walked into the Church together Robbie looked round in amazement everything looked perfect he walked the aisle and stood next to Gary Mark sat down next to Howard they only had to wait a few minutes before Kate started walking down the aisle. The next few hours went by in a flash and seen it was time for the first dance Robbie had not let the girls choose the song much to the disappointment of them he had let the boys choose instead Robbie’s face was one of relief as a his favourite song came on. The drinks soon came out and were being offered round Sofie knew she had to stick to the non-alcoholic drink so offered to be the driver Julie shouted out “what will be next another wedding or christening?” “Who knows maybe it will be a joint one” Amy replied”. The party went on late onto the night and no one surfaced till at least noon the next when they picked up the paper everyone smiled the headline read “Robbie Williams enjoys small friends and family wedding.

Chapter 24

“We want to keep Kate in a little longer because of a punctured lung” “How much longer?” Robbie asked “only A day we want to make sure her blood is carrying enough oxygen to supply her vital organs with enough oxygen to function properly” “if there any chance of her being able to leave earlier” “no I am afraid not”. Robbie sighed he desperately wanted to go home but at the same time he did not want to leave Kate alone there was still so much to do at home. Robbie decided to go see Sofie and Amy who would be with Gary they would know what to do.

A smile creped on Gary’s face as Robbie walked in “thank god you are ok! I was worried that you were really badly injured and it was all my fault. I would have come to see you but I was not allowed” Gary said with a smile on his face “Gaz it was not your fault! I wish you would stop blaming yourself for everything it was my fault I didn’t look well enough and I guessed that you couldn’t come see me you are too caring to not want to” Robbie said “Can I ask some advice from you two” Robbie asked looking at Sofie and Amy “of course” They said in unison “I am allowed home but Kate is not and I need to go home and sort some things out but equally I don’t want to leave Kate alone” “you could go home and bring some stuff that you can do with here then you can do sort the stuff out and be with Kate” Amy suggested “but I will still worry about her” Robbie said “she will be fine nothing’s going to happen to her” Sofie reassured him “Kate knows you care about her even if you are not there” Garry added

The piercing sound of an alarm clock roused Rachel from her sleep. Rachel, she heaved herself out of bed and into the kitchen were Jonathon had made her some coffee “I thought you might need a caffeine boost with all that happened last night and no doubt you will receive an interrogation at work when you get in!” Jonathon laughed “Don’t remind me I get enough questions on a normal day let alone after all that has happened recently” “you never know they might go easy on you!” “I doubt it they will want to know everything that had happened” Rachel sighed “I am so tired I am going to fall asleep as soon as stop for 2 seconds” “why don’t you go in late I am sure that they won’t mind” “I think they will I have just had a week off so I think that it would not go down to well”

Julie was still thinking about the events of the week when her alarm went off she dragged herself out of bed and get dressed she hadn’t slept all night she had decided to go to the hospital at lunch she know all  of them are ok but she will still worry even so.

Katie and Jason finally had time to sit down and think about who had sold the story to the newspaper “the others still don’t know!”  Katie exclaimed “I know we have all been too busy” Jason said “we are going to need to meet up with all of them but when? We don’t know when Gary, Kate and Robbie are going to out of hospital and then we need think about when we are all free”

Chapter 23

“what about Robbie?” Gary asked, Sofie sighed “Robbie and Kate had a car crash on the way home” “is it bad?” “no it is mainly surface injuries the most serious injury is Kate puncturing a lung” Gary looked sad “I feel so guilty it is my fault that they had a crash they were visiting me because I was stupid enough not to tell anyone that I was going out for a walk” “don’t blame yourself” Greta said “it wasn’t your fault it could have happened anyway we don’t know.

The next few hours went by in a flash everybody moved between Gary’s room and Robbie’s and Kate’s room. Gary soon fell asleep again; People and Doctors came and went. People came and said goodbye Jason was the last to leave, Sofie want to go see Robbie before calling it a night “How are you feeling?” Sofie asked “ok still in shock but other that I am fine” Robbie replied “Can you remember what happened?” “Vaguely I remember Kate had lost her phone so we turned around to come back to look for it I cached my mirrors and over my shoulder and I thought it was clear so I pulled out I must have missed the car I tried to move out the way but I froze them I remember waking up in the car and checking to see of Kate was ok” “Gary feels that it his fault before he fell asleep he kept murmuring it about it” “why is he blaming himself?” “because he said it happened on the way back from visiting him and he thought he was being selfish for not telling anyone he was going out” “he worried too much” “I know it makes my worry about him”

Sofie said goodnight to Rob and Kate then went to settle down for the night. Gary woke her up in the morning “Sofie darling” “hum” “it is time to get up”. Sofie opened her eyes the harsh hurt, to took a few minutes to come to her scenes and get her bearings “how did you sleep?” Gary asked “not very well my shoulders as stiff” “come here” Gary held her close and said “I am sorry you should be at home relaxing not here” “I wish you would stop blaming everything on yourself some things are out of are control”

Robbie lay awake all night thinking about his wedding he had decided on a date as soon as possible he knew the place and who to invite all that was left to go was sort out the flowers he had decided to let Gary sort them out he loved sorting out flowers and that just left the catering. Robbie was still thinking about it when the doctor came in “Having observed you overnight we are confident that you are fine to go home” “what about  Kate?”

Chapter 22

Sofie and looked round in shock “How long have you been awake?” “not that long but I didn’t want to disturb you” Sofie smiled “you are such a gentleman” she lend down and kissed his forehead “no I am the lucky one” Gary said “come on Gary pop the question already everybody knows you one to and if you are not going to ask a question then can you answer the question you were about to answer” Mark joked “ok ok Well I was going for a walk when” The doctor walked in “I wasn’t interrupting was I? I have just come to ask Gary a few questions just to gage how well he is recovering” The doctor turned to Gary not waiting for a reply “Can you tell us what your job is?” “I am a member of Take That” “good and call you tell me the names of your band member?” “Mark Owen, Jason Orange Howard Donald and Robbie Williams” “ok and how do you live with “Sofie we live in a house on the outskirts of London” “Ok and one last one can you tell me the who Mark is married to?” “Greta” “ok everything is looking positive he is recovering very quickly I can tell he is determined” the doctor made a few notes then left again “carry on the Gary” mark encouraged.

Howard sat down next to Chloe out of breath from laughing “I told you they would be ok” Chloe said snuggling up with Howard “You are always right sweet heart and that’s why I love you” “Aar” When around the room “get a room” Robbie said every one laugh “it is nice to see everyone laughing again it seems like it had been weeks since everyone has laughed” Rachel said smiling. “it is alright for you guy’s you can laugh! I can’t I am under doctors orders not to laugh and you don’t know how hard that is with you guys around” Kate said with the slightest hint of annoyance “sorry” Jason said his head hanging in shame like a student being told of by a teacher.

“I went out for a walk to clear my head as I couldn’t think strait what with the Wedding, the story, the press conference, Kate and Rob getting engaged and are news I began thinking it was all a dream so I decided to go out by myself and think about the events week I was remember closing my eyes just to think things through after that it just goes blank then my memory is intermittent I remember looking round people but I can’t recognise any faces then it goes blank aging I seem to remember  being surrounded by horses but I don’t know if that happened or not” “Why didn’t tell me that you were going?” Sofie asked “you were asleep and looks so peaceful I didn’t want to wake you” “you could have left a note” “I didn’t think I would need to leave one I thought I would only be gone about half an hour”. Greta walked it “I wondered where you had gone everyone was looking for you oh, where you in the middle of something” “no I had just finished telling what I remember of the other night” “are you feeling better then Gary?” “much better some things are still foggy I can’t put some names to faces” “at least you are conscious and have got some memory back it is much quicker than most people recover” “I still don’t know when I can go home though I hope it is soon thought” “so do I” Sofie said “I miss my bed at lest you have a bed to sleep in I am restricted to this chair!” !” everyone laughed. Gary looked serious for a moment “why is everyone still here I thought you said goodbye to everyone a couple of hours ago and were weren’t there when I woke up last time I am pretty sure of that” Mark, Greta and Sofie looked at each other “have you not told him?” Greta asked “no we haven’t had chance” Sofie replied “told me what” Gary said sounding confused “Rob and Kate had a car crash on the way home” Sofie said gently.

Chapter 21

“Jason Jason wait up I am sure that he will still be there” Katie puffed “you have such a long stride I can’t keep up. Jason took her hand “sorry but I just get so worried the buy are like brothers from different mothers” “I know I know but we don’t want you braking your neck by slipping on a wet floor!” “ok ok I didn’t know you were a health and safety officer in disguise!” Jason joked. They could hear laughter coming from inside Jason let out a sigh of relief “well it sounds like there in good spirits” Jason remarked.  “Jason I am glad you made it in one piece!” Robbie joked “it seems that it hasn’t affected you too much!” “no only light damages it will polish out!” “you guys are making my laugh stop it!” Kate complained “but I thought laughter was a good aid of recovery” Howard said in between fits of laughter “it is when it doesn’t hurt you!”

Rachel sat down next to Kate’s bed “how are you felling “my chested hurts a but other than that I feel fine! It all happened so quickly I am still trying to work out what happened in my head all I remember was looking for my phone” “it will take time for everything to make sense” Julie said “I don’t know if I want it to make sense I think it would scare me to much.

Mark left the room silently he needed to go see Gary he had an Idea why he was in the field the other night. Sofie looked up Mark walked in “how’s Rob?” “fine he is in good spirits laughing away” Mark said, “how is Gary?” “been sleeping a lot but the Doctors say that is normal”. Mark looked at Sofie’s face it looked to tired “you need to go home, you need to rest” “I can’t, I can’t leave him I am the only person he trusts at the moment”. Mark paused “I think I know why he went out that night” “really you were still on you honeymoon thought!” “I know but I think the story really got to him so he went out to clear his head but it doesn’t explain why he was lying there” “Maybe he tripped over and couldn’t get up again” Sofie suggested “but there are no obvious injuries surely there would be something if he had fallen over” Mark said “I can tell you exactly what happened” Gary interrupted 

Chapter 20

Greta drove Mark to the hospital as soon as she had prised some more information out of Mark he knew how much Robbie meant to Mark. He was still in shock when they reached the hospital Greta helped him to accident and emergency where they saw Sofie waiting for them “Amy has just good to see them, Howard and Chloe are here already and everyone else are on the way” Sofie said as they walked waked in together “Have you been to see him yet?” Greta asked “yes I have briefly so I am going to let everyone else go seen him” “How is Gary?” Mark asked “he is doing fine he is being moved out of intensive care tomorrow I am just going to see him now after I have taken you to Rob and Kate”. They went off along the corridors back to the waiting room they had left only a few hours before. The room was filled with people now it was the evening “Oi you are that bloke for Take That aren’t you?” Someone shouted from across the room “Just ignore them we have had it all night at least it wasn’t this bad earlier” Sofie said as they walked through. As they reached the door to where Rob and Kate room “I will leave you here if you need me I will be in with Gary”. Sofie walked down the corridor, Mark paused before he took the plunge and opened the door. Mark stepped in first with Greta holding his hand form behind him. Robbie was awake “Mark!” he said sounding surprisingly cheerful “what have you been up to then Mr Williams!” “oh nothing much just hanging around here you know as you do every day” Mark and Robbie joked

Julie and Vick drove to the hospital in silence apart for the radio and the occasional light chatter “Why do hospitals always look so unattractive they are morbid places as it is the least they could do is to make them look nice” Julie said as they approached “I don’t know why don’t you make a suggestion when you get there then!” Vicky said trying to lighten the mood.

Vicky, Julie, Jonathon and Rachel all reached the hospital at the same time. Greta was there waiting for them this time “he seems in good spirits him and Mark were joking around as normal” “that is good how is Kate?” Julie asked “Kate is doing well she is on morphine for a punctured lung but other than that they have only sustained minor injuries” Grate explained. They reached the door and walked in Kate was smiling as Mark had his jumper pulled up over his head pretending to be a turtle. “well it seems that there is nothing wrong with you two then!” Rachel laughed the rest of the room were in stiches including the nurses.

Jason pulled up in the hospital car park and rushed out the car “what does the traffic always move so slowly when you are in a such a rush” he said to Katie as he stared striding toward the door “I am sure that they won’t mind if you were late as long as you didn’t arrive on a stretcher”. Jason when rushing off toward A&E leaving Kate running after him.

Chapter 19

Mark, Howard and Jason said “Robbie” At the same time despite being in different places. Chloe turned to look at Howard “what about Robbie?” “I don’t know but I am going to call Him just to check that he is ok” “I am sure he will”. Howard went into the kitchen to hone Robbie he came out a few minutes “it went straight to answer phone” Howard said looking worried “I am sure he will be fine he probably just turns his phone off so he could have a quiet night with Kate” “but wouldn’t he want turn his phone of in case there was a sudden change in Gary’s condition” “or maybe he had not got any signal you know what the reception is like around here” Chloe reassured “Maybe but I will still worry about him but I can’t always get hold of him, he is hard to get hold of” “I am sure he is fine” Chloe reassured Howard

Jason started to panic “what if something really bad has happened to him” “it’s ok Jason just calm down it is probably just the events of the week taking the toll on you. You are tired and you mind is becoming overactive” Kate said, “I still want to check just in case, the mind has a strange way of working some people know when something has happened to someone close to them even if they are on the other side of the world” Jason explained “look if you are that worried then just call him it can’t do any harm”

The first thing Any and Sofie know about Robbie was when a Doctor came in and said “Do you know a Mr Williams who may have been traveling with a female companion and had visited Mr Barlow here” “yes we do why” Sofie answered “I have some bad news, I am afraid that he has been involved in a car crash and is currently under supervision in accident and emergency” “How bad is it” Amy asked “I am not at liberty to say but I think is it best that you come see him and is there anybody else that should be informed?” “Yes the rest of the band should be informed and are close friends” “Do you want the hospital to do it or are you ok doing it?” “I will do it” Amy offered. Sofie’s eyes opened wide “Kate How is Kate she would have been the companion!” “She sustained a few more injuries than Mr Williams and is also under close supervision” The doctor told them. Amy went odd to tell the others leaving Gary, Sofie and the nurse together, Gary was still asleep but Sofie looked torn between seeing Robbie and staying with Gary the nurse could tell “go and see him even if it is only for a few minutes if Gary wakes up then I will tell him that you will be back soon” The nurse suggested “are you sure he will be ok” Sofie asked looking worried “yes you need to go see your friend I am sure Gary would want you to go see him”. Sofie agreed reluctantly

 Jason answered the phone “Amy?” “I think you need to come back to the hospital” “is Gary ok?” “Gary is fine it is Robbie and Kate that are hurt” “What has happened to them?” “They have been in a car crash” “how bad is it?” “I don’t know I haven’t been to see them yet I thought I should let you know” “Ok thanks for letting me know I will be over in a minute there is something I need to do something first” “ok see you soon”. Jason sighed and thought to himself “I have to tell her I can’t run the risk of her not knowing”. Katie walked into the room “who was that on phone” “it was Amy, ate I have something to say to you” “yes” “Katie I love you I can’t bear to be apart from” Jason Orange you are the cutes man alive I love you to. I have a question what did Amy want?” “She told me that I need to go back to the hospital, Robbie and Kate have had a crash but I needed to tell you I love you I couldn’t put is off any longer when Amy told me about Rob and Kate it made me think something could happen to us at any time and I didn’t want you to not know how I felt for you” “are Kate and Rob ok?” “I don’t know all I know is that we need to go and see them”

Rachel was cooking diner when the phone rang Jonathon saw that it was Amy so Jonathon answered the phone for her “Hello” Jonathon said “Jonathon! Where’s Rachel?” Amy said sounding confused “She is cooking diner she has banned me from the kitchen she says she is making something special that she doesn’t want me to see” “can you try and get her I have something really important to tell her” “Ok I will try and get her now” Jonathon left the phone for a few minutes to try and persuade Rachel to come to the phone “Hello Amy?” “Rachel it’s Robbie and Kate they have been in a car crash” “are they ok?” “I don’t know I am going to see them in a minute I am making a few phone calls before I can go see them” “Ok I will be there as soon as I can”. Jonathon looked at Rachel inquisitively “Robbie and Kate have been involved in a car crash and are is hospital” Rachel sat down “I don’t know how much more of this I can take it seems that everyone close to me has had something bad happen to them recently” “Not everyone” Jonathon reminded her as he held her close “everything will be ok” Rachel tried to compose herself “come on I will take you to the Hospital I want to see them as well especially as I haven’t seen Mark since the wedding!” “Ok let me just grab my coat”. Jonathon drove carefully to the hospital looking over from time to time to check to see if she was ok.

Howard got off the phone to Amy sat down and sighed “what’s up?” Chloe asked “it is Robbie and Kate there in hospital they have been involved in a car crash” Howard said then started crying, Chloe held him close “they will both be fine there is no need to worry” “this week has just been so stressful it seems that Take That are jinxed, fir=t the story, then Gary and now Robbie who is going to be next?” “Take That are not jinxed! Everyone is just stressed about the story so are doing things that they would not normally do”  “that won’t stop me worrying I still think that something bad is going to happen to someone else”

Mark couldn’t speak when he got off the phone to Amy he just sat down and stared into space “Mark what’s happened?” Greta asked softly but Mark didn’t answer Greta sat down next to him and hugged his, he just carried on staring not saying a thing “Mark is it Gary?” he shook his head “then what is up why are you so say Mark uttered one word “Rob”
